Help with using the mc² File Management System
   Maximum individual file size permitted is 3 Mb
Larger files will be deleted!
If you need to upload larger files contact us or use FTP

Download Winzip To save download time, files may be compressed, or zipped, to reduce the file size. You can unzip any zipped files with a program such as WinZip [opens in new window]
Download Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF format files may require installation of the Adobe Acrobat Reader before they can be viewed through your browser [opens in new window]
To ensure the efficient functioning of mc2, and to preserve bandwidth and webspace for all users; mc2 staff reserve the right to impose a limit on the maximum permissible file size and to remove without notice, files exceeding this limit. We will also remove without notice, any file that is deemed inappropriate, or breaches the VICNET reserves the right to alter the Code of Conduct at any time. It is the responsibility of mc2 users to regularly check & read the most up-to-date version on the mc2 site Code of Conduct.

Help with mc2 File Management System:

  1. See folders on the left hand side of the screen?

    • No? There may be a problem with your webspace - contact Vicnet Help Desk
    • Yes? Clicking on  will display the contents of each folder.
    • Clicking on  will collapse the folder again.

  2. At first, you will see something like this:
    don't click here! click on the + on the left hand side of your screen!
    where webspace represents the name of your webspace. More on mc2 Personal Webspace and Group Webspace.

  3. Just click on the don't click here! click on the left hand side of your screen! or don't click here! click on the left hand side of your screen! to open it thus:
    don't click here! click on the left hand side of your screen!

  4. Then click on the don't click here! click on the 'files' folder on the left hand side of your screen! folder to start using the mc2 File Management System.
    You will then be able to create your own folders/directories to store your files in.
    Just use the grey buttons that appear, to upload your files from your computer.

  5. The web folder is hidden, as it is reserved for the Webpage Generator. Group Webpages created this way can be viewed via the Webpages feature, i.e. look here.

  6. Note that the shared_files folder is only available to groups, not individuals. Help with Shared Files

  7. To restore a deleted file, go to trash, select the file, then select the move files button and select a directory/folder to move it to.

Streaming Audio and/or Video Files
If you wish to deliver Streaming Audio and/or Video Files, contact us requesting permission to have a streaming account set up for you. Please Note: We are only able to approve Victorian Community Groups, due to bandwidth limitations.

You must not breach any copyright or laws by uploading, broadcasting, publishing, storing or delivering any information, in any format [text, images, audio, video etc.].
