![]() Minister John Brumby and Mr Rolando Garay, President of the Spanish Latin American Welfare Centre |
The State Government of Victoria invited applications from local councils, statewide agencies, peak bodies, government agencies and other networks for My Connected Community funding to establish online communities amongst their members and the wider population.
My Connected Community is part of the Victorian Government's Connecting Victoria strategy to ensure that the benefits of online technologies are shared across the entire Victorian community. The key objective of this $3.5 million program is to rapidly stimulate the development of online communities of interest within Victoria.
Applications have been encouraged from organisations able to provide support and training to those hardest to reach including people from non-English speaking backgrounds, Indigenous communities, people with disabilities and low income earners.
Two levels of funding have been made available under the program: Level 2 ($20,000) and Level 3 ($50,000). All successful projects will be funded for 2 years.
Closing date for applications was 15 June 2001.
