Melbourne Citymission will work closely with people living with a disability, their carers and service providers to form online communities on the My Connected Community website. The groups will be set up to provide people living with a disability the opportunity for social interaction, participation and to learn new skills. Groups may be set up for carers to support information sharing and to reduce isolation, carers of children with a rare disability may also which to set up specialised disability support groups. Initially the groups will involve Melbourne Citymission clients from the North West of Melbourne but the groups may be made available to others once they are established.
