Barney Butterworth N. 6280 24th Battalion A.I.F. Enlisted in Melbourne 29/4/1916 aged 39yrs. Served in England & France where he suffered Trench Fever. After the war he took up a Soldier Settler block at Buchan South and named it Stonehenge after the original in England near to where he was encamped before going to France. The farm is still in the family and operated by his great-grandson Jamie Houghton and his wife Rebecca.
