Macedon Ranges Venturer Unit

We are the Macedon Ranges Venturer Unit, a part of Scouting Australia, a movement for youth between 14 and 18 years of age. We are a district unit which means we have members from as far a field as Riddells Creek, Romsey, Macedon, Kyneton, Woodend, Malmsbury and Lancefield.

MRVU met weekly from 8pm to 10:30pm, on Friday nights during school term, at either the Log Cabin (Scout Hall) in Woodend or the Macedon Scout hall, Macedon. We also have regular weekend and overnight activities both during school term and in the school holidays.

To have fun with everything we do, be it hiking, canoeing, landcare or service projects. Should you join us you will gather lots of new skills but also have the opportunity to share some of your own skills and talents with us. You will learn to work as a member of a team with your fellow venturers and leaders.

Venturers are young people just like you, who have chosen to live their life by the Scout Law and Promise. While this sounds pretty heavy duty, it basically encompasses the Aussie sentiment of a fair go for all and you trying to do your best. As Venturers you will have a big say in what activities MRVU does. Unit council, made up of elected youth members, decides the unit programme activities with the support of the leaders.

You are most welcome to join us for up to three nights to meet with the Unit, have a go and see if you would like to join us at MRVU. Then to join us you will need to have your parents fill in a registration form and be accepted as a member of the unit by the Unit Council. You would then be invested into the unit and you will be a venturer.
