Youth Voice Committee
Youth Voice is an exciting new initiative of Hobsons Bay City Council. Youth Voice is based on a Youth Participation Model and will engage young people and empower them to co-create the community they wish to live in.
The Youth Voice Committee (YVC) form the decision making body for grant allocation for youth projects within Hobsons Bay. The Youth Voice Brokerage fund (totalling $15,000) is distributed to youth projects in Hobsons Bay. The YVC decide who can apply, what types of projects will be funded and work on developing guidelines of application.
The overall goal of this program is to empower young people to make decisions and to ensure our services are contemporary and reactive to the needs of young people.
The YVC create opportunities for young people and enable opportunities that result in meaningful change.
As well as an exciting opportunity, this role will provide many skills to assist in the future careers of YVC members.
