Gold is where you find it. A very nice find from a lady that do not mind seaching in places where there is a lot of rubbish. The reward was a 242.3 gram nugget.

Every camp, members find gold whether large or small and these are reported in our quarterly newsletter. Your name could be there one day.

CRESWICK—CAMP REPORT

Blessed with good weather we had around 19 members turn up for what was a great weekend.

What we hadn’t expected was that several members enjoyed gold panning, and to my surprise found both Steve and Joe sitting on stools in the creek panning for gold. They had gumboots on for it was very cold but they also had success although quite small as you would imagine.

Jeff and Dorothy stayed out at the caravan park for they thought it would be too wet but dry conditions meant that access to the Picnic Ground no 3 was quite dry.

Geoff and Marion had returned from Milparinka (see report) so it was good to see them safe and sound. Hopefully Graeme and Mary Sheppard’s family illness problems will be resolved soon.

Dawn was at her best finding 10 small nuggets weighing 1.2 g while Pauls smaller number weighed 1.9 g. Others found other small quantities.

The campfire was very enjoyable with a lot of laughter and fun and we welcome our new members. Many thanks to Cyril for all the work he put in to the raffle and the contributers to the prizes and wood for the fire. This time is was Dawn and Wayne whose tickets were being selected

A very enjoyable camp - Jeff
