875 Troy ounces of solid gold, found in 1980 behind a school in Kinggower.
Once a month we go detecting in the golden triangle so one of our members may find one too. Our Club has been going for 30 years and during that time nuggets of all sizes have been found. Members also go over to the West as well as the Victorian Goldfields so have many opportunites to find your nugget.

Camping
Camping in the bush is our preferred locations with caravans, trailers or tents, it's up to you. The camping areas chosen are clearings in the bush and we often have around 12 to 15 camping sites which are chosen by the members themselves. You can be as near or as far away from others as you like and also invite your friends. Directions to the sites are given out a couple of weeks before each activity.

Social Times
There are times where we have fun like on Melbourne Cup Day with Fashions on the Field and other activities. When you think of the special weekends like Christmas, Melbourne Cup and other events we incorporate the fun into our weekends so we all join in.

Social times BBQ
Often social times include campfires, raffles and BBQs like this which is also on Melb. Cup Day. In the back ground you can see a caravan which is used by a member to camp in over the weekend. Our members can come from any where in Australia and only see us on the group outings. This is what makes our outings more enjoyable.

Going Detecting
When we go Detecting, on most occasions we go with with others for safety and companionship. There are always others who are in a similar situation to yourself and you are welcome to join in. Detectors of all types are used from the new GPX4500 to SD2000s and other detectors such as Whites, etc. So if you have a problem, on most occasions there will be someone on hand to assist you.
