Victorian Local Government Disability Planners Network
The Victorian Local Government Disability Planners Network (VLGDPN) is a non incorporated, group of people whose purpose is to work together through local government and other community based settings to provide improved access and inclusion for people with disabilities in Victoria.
The Network began in 1997, members of the Network have since this time worked together to achieve considerable change particularly within a local government setting to improve access and
inclusion for people with disabilities on the local level and across Victoria.
Aims of the Network
· To provide peer support, information sharing and professional assistance to members who work towards the promotion of community access and inclusion for people with disabilities in Councils and local communities.
· To identify issues of disability related access and inclusion and advocate on them.
· To enhance and maintain the Network’s working alliance with the MAV, the Department of Human Services (DHS) and other government agencies.
· To actively increase the membership of the Network through a peer support model.
