| On Wednesday 9th June the SE & Illawarra Literacy Task Force met at the Kiama Family History Centre, Railway Parade, Kiama.
Sheilagh Kelly (UTS)and Betty Johnston were our wonderful guest speakers. Sheilagh, Betty and Keiko Yasukawa wrote The Adult Numeracy Handbook: Reframing Adult Numeracy in Australia which was launched recently in Sydney at NSW Adult Literacy & Numeracy Council Numerate Cocktails. It was a great opportunity for those who studied post-graduate ABE courses at UTS in the 1980's and 1990's to reconnect with Sheilagh and Betty. Response to the session was very positive. Thanks to Betty & Sheilagh again for coming to join us in Kiama... a wonderful morning :-) |
