| On Tuesday 8th November 2005 my daughter & I were driving home and we could see a large dark cloud ahead of us as we drove on we could see what we thought was rain - but it was strangely misty white looking. When we finally got to the rain our car was thumped with huge hailstones that made us cringe!! BANG! BANG! BANG! We were waiting for the windscreen to smash any second!!! We were both cringing in the car...
We continued to drive rather slowly home and when we got there it was still hailing. We raced into the house to my husband and other daughter - where we checked out the hailstones Brian had collected and listened to the din of the hail thundering down from the sky! After all was over we discovered that the car was damaged with dints on most panels and a large window in the girls room had 3 huge holes in it. The storm hit us from the North. Other damage was to plastic in the yard such as bin lids and the plastic tray of a trike. Check out the links to other storms we have suffered this year... 2005 the year for storms |
