Coonabarabran GUMNUT GUIDES

Making Mothers Day gifts
April 29th Gumnut meeting was attended by 7 Gumnuts, 3 Gum Blossoms, 3 Lone Guides, 3 Leaders, 1 Visitor and a Region Leader. If you are wondering what Gum Blossoms are… they are new girls who have not yet made their promise. The guides were divided up into their Patrols and preceded to make their special surprises for their Mums. The girls were very industrious making and creating. After everything was washed and tidied up the Gumnut guides went outside for a game of ‘Lighthouse, Where are you?’ As always - FUN had by ALL.

If you are looking for something different for your daughter which isn’t competitive, how about Guiding?

Guiding is fun. Our Aim is to encourage girls to challenge themselves, to have a go and to enjoy themselves in the process. We attempt many and varied activities which prepare girls for the future. At our meetings we assist the girls to choose activities they want to do and plan them so the philosophy and fundamentals of guiding are met.

The philosophy of guiding encourages girls to grow into self reliant, organised, cooperative, warm individuals, etc. Please feel free to come and visit the guide hall to see the Guides in action.

Coonabarabran has fun every Friday afternoon for girls aged 5 - 10 years old. At the Coonabarabran Guide Hall (cnr Edwards & Namoi Streets) the Gumnut Guides meet after school until 5pm.
