Introduction to Mobile Phones - Part 1 - an overview

Mobile phones make it easy to stay in touch and get more out of your day. Although new technology can seem daunting, mastering the basics is easier than you think. This workshop introduces new users to the fundamentals of using a mobile phone. The workshop explains how mobile phones work and you'll learn how to make a call, adjust the volume of your phone and check for reception.

Introduction to Mobile Phones - Part 2

The aim of this workshop is to help you understand more about your mobile phone. Learn how to work through menus and change the profile of your phone. You'll discuss the benefits of voicemail and learn how to retrieve your messages, any time, anywhere!

Introduction to Mobile Phones - Part 3

Never forget a phone number again! In this workshop you will learn about managing your mobile phone address book and contact list. See how easy it is to enter friends' and family's contact numbers and then access your Phone Book to make calls.

Introduction to the Internet - Part 1

The internet is a fantastic resource that can help you stay in touch with family and friends all over the world. However, all the new jargon and equipment can sometimes be confusing and a little intimidating. This workshop explains how the internet works, the difference between dial-up and broadband connections and what you need to do to get connected at home. You will also learn how to navigate around the internet and how to use settings to create larger fonts to make webpages easier to read.

Introduction to the Internet - Part 2

In this workshop you will put your new internet knowledge to good use as you begin exploring the internet. You will practice the basics of online navigation, and then use your new skills to learn how to search for information and browse the internet. This workshop also covers the software requirements and basic principles you need to help you stay safe online.

Introduction to Email - Part 1

Email is the modern way to send letters – you can send a message or photos to the other side of the world and get a reply in minutes! This workshop covers the basic steps you need to help keep in touch with your family and friends. It will explain how email works, how to send an email, and how to read and reply to emails that have been sent to you. You’ll also learn how to understand and manage your internet usage and costs.

Introduction to Text Messaging (SMS)

Learn what an SMS/text message is and how to create, send and receive one. You'll also learn some tips to locate space buttons, capitals and symbols keys to make it easier and quicker to use this great feature on your mobile phone.

Introduction to Email - Part 2

Moving on from the basics. In this workshop you'll learn how to build an online address book so you can email your family and friends from anywhere in the world! The workshop covers how to add email addresses to your address book and how to send group emails, as well as some handy hints and tips to help you manage your address book.

Sharing Photos and other attachments Online

Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. In this workshop you'll learn how to attach photos and other documents to your emails so you can share your memories of special occasions with your friends and family. You'll also discuss some websites you can use to easily and safely share and store photos online.

More advanced workshops are offered to clubs as the skill level of the participants increases.
