Why Are They Called HPVs and Not Recumbents
- Why are they called HPVs? Because HPVs are ANY form of human powered vehicle:
- A bicycle "as we know it" is a HPV, but not recumbent
- A tricycle can be recumbent or not
- A boat powered by some one pedalling it is not a recumbent bicycle
- A submarine powered by some one pedalling it is not a recumbent bicycle
- Aircraft powered by human power aren't recumbent bicycles
- The term HPV as you can see is inclusive, more people = more fun
So if you would like to come for a ride with a VicHPV group and you don't have a recumbent, and you own a bike then you do own a HPV and we would love to see you.
