Submitting things for the web site - if you want to submit somthing and want to make it easier for me ( the web person - because I ain't no web master! ) there are a few things you could do to make things easier for me.
It helps me if you write everything in text only format. You can do this by saving in most word processing programs as a text only document. In the document if you put where you want the pictures this also helps me. So for example "picture me01.jpg goes here" would be helpful. But I can't make absoulute promises about alignment.
If you want a free text editor/word processing program you can get one ( the one that I use to write web pages on in fact) called NoteTab Light. It is fairly quick to down load and straight forward to use.
It also helps me if you name your pictures in all lower case and with a number. The naming convention is like this me01.jpg or you01.jpg or meandyou01.jpg. You will notice there are no spaces or hypens or underscores, and numbers are proceeded by 0 (zero). When you choose a name it is helpful if it is short and descriptive.
If you were feeling adventurous and wanted to reduce the pictures down in size (I would appreciate it greatly) I would suggest you use this free program called irfanview once you have down loaded it you can follow the instructions in the pictures below. It is also a reasonably small program, so downloads quickly. It is also great for doing a slide show of files in any folder.
open the picture flie you want to reduce in size, then choose the menu images
Then choose resize/resample
You will get the resize/resample dialoge box, which looks like this pic below
You then change the width to either of these choices 400, 300 or 250. Check you have the box marked "Preserve aspect ratio" ticked before you make any changes. Don't change the height - the computer will do that. Also check that you have the size method button for "resample" checked and resample filter selected is "Lanczos filter(slowest)". If your not sure look down this page a bit further for a picture of what it is supposed to look like. Don't worry it is really easy.
Last step is to save it and change the name, ideally using the naming convention discussed above. When you save it, save as a jpg format and the quality is set to 90. Just look at the picture below.
Then you send it to me!
