Sunday 30th Mar 2008 City slickers ride When / where: 9.30 for 10 am start Sunday 30 March; Meet Rushall station, Melways 30D12, parking end of Falconer Street or surrounds. Distance / timing: Somewhere between 35-45km, usually finished around 5pm, all ages and abilities and bike types welcome! Be spon totally spontaneous rules: You're all responsible for yourselves, but: Keep an eye out for stragglers, don't leave anyone behind, and if you are super keen, by all means shoot off in front but wait at any obvious intersection and keep in touch...yeah? Maps: check out the melways online: http://www.street-directory.com.au/sd_new/mapsearch.cgi Directions: Proceed to Port Melbourne via Capital City Trail travelling west to Citylink, south to Footscray Road past Docklands, then to Yarra's Edge. Cross Lorimer / Montague intersection to Johnson St, ref 2E G11. Proceed south, cross Normanby / Boundary intersection to tram line path, turn right towards Port Melb. We may then proceed along beach to St Kilda for lunch, then return via Southbank for gelati or coffee, (retrace steps, or via Kerferd Rd / Albert Rd / St Kilda Rd) then optionally return via Citylink / Capital City trail, OR, proceed east along the river to Birrarung Marr (2G A6) and the overpass footbridge to Jolimont St then directly north up Clarendon or Lansdowne St, past the city fringe to Napier St which can be followed all the way to Edinburgh Gardens and Rushall.
