| RESPONSIBLE VISTOR BEHAVIOUR AT ROCK ART SITES
* Never touch or wet rock art - it is highly damaging * Never chalk or enhance engravings * Do not walk on engraved rock * Leave all archaeological artefacts as they are * Only take photographs, only leave your footsteps This area is full with rock art sites and impressive natural features. From Moab we only visited a small part. Our trip included several sites along the Indian Creek (Newspaper Rock, Shay Canyon and Indian Creek) and - further west - some sites in Horse Canyon and Salt Creek Canyon. The latter two areas are accessible only with a guided tour. The photo shows one part of the painted gallery at Peekaboo Cave in Salt Creek canyon. |
