MILL CREEK AND MOAB GOLF COURSE - UTAH

Maarten van Hoek Updated August 2005
RESPONSIBLE VISTOR BEHAVIOUR AT ROCK ART SITES
* Never touch or wet rock art - it is highly damaging
* Never chalk or enhance engravings
* Do not walk on engraved rock
* Leave all archaeological artefacts as they are
* Only take photographs, only leave your footsteps

Easily accesible on foot a short distance from Moab is this rock art site at Mill Creek (first photo). It comprises two small petroglyph panels that are directly situated above the small stream. Further upstream are more sites along Mill Creek, but these are harder to reach.

The second and third photos are taken at the Moab Golf Course site, about 8 km SE of town but very easy to get to by car and perhaps for that reason much vandalised. It is a long petroglyph panel with many anthropomorphs and zoomorphs.
