| RESPONSIBLE VISTOR BEHAVIOUR AT ROCK ART SITES
* Never touch or wet rock art - it is highly damaging * Never chalk or enhance engravings * Do not walk on engraved rock * Leave all archaeological artefacts as they are * Only take photographs, only leave your footsteps This cluster of rock art sites can be found in Indian Creek only a few miles NW of Shay Canyon. They occur on vertical parts of the sandstone cliffs. The main panel is dominated by a number of large Fremont anthropomorphs. Another human figure - an archer perhaps - features enormous feet, one of which has an extra digit. There are more petroglyphs on the panel to the left of the cleft, one groove leading to more examples in the cleft itself. To the east of the main panel are several other petroglyph panels (fourth photo) and at least two panels with faint paintings (last photo). |
