Background:
The Knowledge for Advocacy Platform
An essential part of VicHealth’s work is the facilitation, funding and participation in policy and advocacy coalitions. These coalitions are usually understood as mostly professionalised interest groups, or networks of interested parties and organisations.
VicHealth often provides funding to these coalitions for secretarial, office and event management support. VicHealth also provides crucial support through the provision of the latest population health trends, research evidence and strategic intelligence from policy and government.
The objective of this project is to maintain a web-based collaborative social networking platform that facilitates the production, synthesis and translation of practical health promotion knowledge. Complementing this core challenge is a second challenge to enable the translation of knowledge through collaboration, constituency building and supporting the advocacy activities of VicHealth-funded coalitions.
