Early Morn African Violet Group meets twice a month at Alvie Hall, corner Alvie and High Street Roads, Mount Waverley. We are a friendly group of African violet enthusiasts who are willing to help visitors and new members to learn more about how to grow African violets successfully.
Night meetings are held on the 1st Monday of each month with the door opening at 7.30 p.m. and the meeting commencing at 8.00 p.m. except in January.
Day meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month with the door opening at 9.30 a.m. and the meeting commencing at 10.00 a.m. except in January.
On the third weekend of November each year we hold an African Violet Show and Sale in the Mt Waverley Community Centre, Stephenson's Road, Mt Waverley. We are open from 1-4 p.m. on the Saturday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on the Sunday. Admission is $5.00, concession $4. The 2011 Show will be held on 19th and 20th November.
At both night and day meetings members, and our Annual Show, one can purchase all supplies necessary for growing African violets - pots of all sizes, fertilizer, potting mix etc.,as well as plants and leaves.
As a member one can borrow from an extensive library of books and magazines about African violets and the other gesneriads
