| Their sound so fine.
Their lyrics sublime. This hot Sydney band sent a message with their rhyme. The Herd were the main attraction at a show held at the Mildura Greek Orthodox Church on Saturday 5th of June. Well known for their race-track 77%, The Herd raise awareness of current political issues through a combination of addictive beats and masterful verse. Local bands Colombian Film Society, Arift and Infinity State got the party started, providing the tinder, spark and kindling for Saturday's furnace. Things really heated up when The Herd blasted onto the stage. An enthusiastic crowd roared the lyrics to 77%, Burn Down the Parliament and The Elephant Dance. Many stood in awe at their antiwar Starship Trooper. Dancers were held at attention and in suspense for the changing beats of Its Unpredictable. Local talent got a chance to shine when The Herd hosted a free-styling tournament. First-rounder Matt motivated himself and the audience with a pugilist's bounce and survived the word-weavings of Xavior and three other close battles to emerge as first among Mildura's best. The event was for ages between 13 and 3200. The night was strictly illicit drug and alcohol free. The Herd held a hip-hop workshop at the Mildura Community Centre on Sunday. Organics on Eleventh were there to provide Vegan fuel for the inferno. Popular among the Grandmasters were falafel rolls, samosas and chai tea. Lentil-pumpkin curry, rice, fresh fruits, vegan chocolates and chocolate-persimmon cake were also on offer. Food was prepared and sold by devotees of Organics on Eleventh. |
