Introducing the dynamic P - 12 educational communities of Tallangatta and Corryong. We are a group of 11 school sites who all share a passion for our rural communities and a belief that by working together we can create a seamless education for our students. Our vision is to create a multi-campus seamless P – 12 education community which includes a Middle Years program which is efficient, coherent and continuous – rather than our current program which has an exemplary transition program and some shared programs but is still a “Primary then Secondary” model.

Schools in our cluster include:

Bethanga Primary School
Corryong College (P-12)
Eskdale Primary School
Kiewa Valley Primary School
Mitta Mitta Primary school
Upper Sandy Creek Primary School
Talgarno Primary School
Tallangatta Primary School
Tallangatta Secondary College (host school)
Tallangatta Valley Primary school
Walwa Primary School

The cluster operates as two cells - Tallangatta and Corryong. Because of the huge area our cluster covers and the distances between our schools, we find it more efficient to develop our strategies within the natural affinities of the Tallangatta group of schools (Tallangatta Secondary College with 8 of its feeder primary schools) and Corryong P-12 College with Walwa Primary School. We have two part time educators - Marilyn Chambers,Tallangatta Cell (0.6)and Melanie Seaborn, Corryong Cell (0.4). Melanie and Marilyn communicate regularly and the clusters have an agreement to share their learning.

Each cell is implementing different but complementary strategies.

Our major strategies are based on the following values:

· Success for all in a culture of success
· Genuine sharing of resources – personnel, physical and financial
· The holistic journey of the child
· The importance of preparing students for their place in the global community

It is our goal that students in our cluster will have the skills and attitudes of enterprise in its widest sense.
What does an enterprising student look like? An enterprising student will be able to:
· Generate and use creative ideas and processes
· Identify, create, assess and take advantage of opportunities
· Transfer Learning to new situations

Quality in Schools

Our cluster submission was developed within the framework of the principles and practices of continuous improvement of quality. We are continuously learning through this philosophical and practical approach. Corryong Cell has revisited their training under the guidance of Rob Palmer for 2003 - 2005. These links will be useful in finding more information.

Dalton and Anderson PLOT PD

Corryong Cell has embarked on this two year professional development program with Joan Dalton and David Anderson. This complements their commitment to revisiting Quality training with Rob Palmer. These two learnings provide an all-encompassing approach to school improvement.
