Who Are We?

The Southern Sherbrooke Historical Society works with the community in gathering and sharing the history of the South Riding of the former Shire of Sherbrooke, which includes Belgrave South and Heights.

We have a large collection of photographs, oral histories and information and records from local organisations (e.g. schools, fire brigades and churches) and we are constantly looking to add items to our collection.

Our society began in 1994 and we have promoted our profile through displays, tours and trivia nights. We participate in local community activities.

We have close ties with other heritage groups within the Shire of Yarra Ranges. We contributed to the Shire's Heritage Study which lists sites of historic importance throughout the Shire.
