Students of Sustainability Melbourne 2004
We're a group of young activists, mostly (but not exclusively) students, who've formed a collective to organise for Melbourne, the annual Students of Sustainability (SoS) conference. SoS is an environmental and social justice conference and is held in a different region of Australia each year (it is to be held this year at LaTrobe University in Bundoora from July 11-17). It brings together hundreds of students, activists, academics and community groups for a week of forums, workshops, fieldtrips, discussions and positive actions focusing on ecological and social sustainability. The conference structure ranges from formal plenaries and forums to less structured workshops and open-space sessions. We are hoping to make this years SoS bigger than ever with potentially 800-1000 delegates, coming from all over Australia and the South Pacific.
