Term 2 2007 River Rehabilitation Site Monitoring at the L1 site continues. Planning is underway for a cluster team to attend the River Health Conference in Canberra in October. The ASISTM funded Totally Spatial! program is being further rolled out this term. April 23 Cluster teachers attended a PD on GIS software: what it is and how to use it. May 16 St Josephs School [Yr5-6] monitor the rehabilitation site. May 16 Orbost Primary School [Yr5-6/1] monitor the rehabilitation site. May 16 Orbost Primary School [Yr5-6/2] monitor the rehabilitation site. May 23 Marlo Primary School [Yr5-6] monitor the rehabilitation site. May 30 Newmerella Primary School [Yr5-6] monitor the rehabilitation site. June 13 Orbost Secondary College [Yr8/1] monitor the rehabilitation site. June 14 Orbost Secondary College [Yr7/1] monitor the rehabilitation site. June 14 Orbost Secondary College [Yr7/2] monitor the rehabilitation site. June 19 Orbost Secondary College [Yr8/2] monitor the rehabilitation site. June 28 Orbost Secondary College [Yr8/1] WERE to monitor the rehabilitation site BUT it was raining so much the roads were flooded and the trip was canceled!! Term break saw the biggest flood of the Snowy River in many years! Fortunately, despite constant heavy rain in parts of the catchment it was a 'gentle flood' that caused minor fence damage, minor erosion in all but one creek and subsided relatively quickly. |
