Term 3 2005 July 12 Orbost Primary School students explored the ideas of a watershed and a catchment. Newmerella Primary School students the ideas of a watershed and a catchment. Mr McNamara met with Yr 9 Orbost Secondary College students selected to present at the River Health Conference. St Joseph's School students explored the concepts of watershed and catchment. July 13 Yr 8 Orbost Secondary College students experimented with materials to discover the origins of sand in the Snowy River. Orbost North Primary School students explored the concepts of watershed and catchment. Marlo Primary School students explored the concepts of watershed and catchment. July 19 Orbost Primary School students explored the origin of sand with brainstorming and experiments. Newmerella Primary School students explored the origin of sand with brainstorming and experiments. St Joseph's School students explored the origin of sand with brainstorming and experiments. July 20 Rubbish! Yr 8 Orbost Secondary Students surveyed the rubbish/litter load in the gutter in front of the school and the area of the school driveway. Orbost North Primary School students examined the rubbish collected as OSC and categorised it. Marlo Primary School students examined the rubbish collected as OSC, categorised and sorted it. July 25 - 29 Snowy River Thinking was one of the sponsors bringing the Catchment Education Trailer to the school cluster this week. August 2 Orbost Primary School explored the issues of litter and stormwater drains and how they impact on the Snowy River Newmerella Primary School explored the issues of litter and stormwater drains. A brief local survey identified plastic as the major material in litter. Orbost Secondary College Yr 9 students selected to present at the River Health Conference met with Mr McNamara to discuss progress. |
