Term 4 2004 October - December Ongoing painting of the Snowy River Thinking mural at Marlo Primary School. See how it started, develops and works out. October 6 Orbost Primary School collected water quality data as part of the Water Watch program with the snap shot being presented at a special show during National Water Week on Oct 18th. St Joseph's School collected water quality data as part of the Water Watch program with the snap shot being presented at a special show during National Water Week on Oct 18th. October 8 Orbost North Primary School collected water quality data as part of the Water Watch program with the snap shot being presented at a special show during National Water Week on Oct 18th. Orbost North Primary School middle school explored the world of water bugs! Orbost North Primary School P-2 explored the world of water bugs and poems about water. October 12 Marlo Primary School collected water quality data as part of the Water Watch program with the snap shot being presented at a special show during National Water Week on Oct 18th. October 13 Orbost Secondary College art students selected great colour pictures of animals associated with the Snowy River and laminated them for use in teaching. Thanks guys! October 30 Snowy River Thinking show cased the work of the program at the Snowy River Festival market day in Forest Park. November 10 Orbost Secondary College Yr10 travelled to Monash University Clayton Campus to see the model of the river and talk to the engineers designing the instream structures. November 18 Newmerella Primary School Yr5-6 explored the wonderful world of macroinvertebrates. Newmerella Primary School Yr3-4 explored the wonderful world of macroinvertebrates. Newmerella Primary School Yr2-3 explored the wonderful world of macroinvertebrates. Newmerella Primary School YrP-1 explored the wonderful world of macroinvertebrates. November 24 Marlo Primary School Yr4-6 explored the wonderful world of macroinvertebrates and were the first to utilise the Snowy River Thinking space. Marlo Primary School YrP-3 explored the wonderful world of macroinvertebrates and drew some fantastic images of real and unreal water bugs! November 25 Snowy River Thinking wins an Australian Science Teachers Association grant! ASTA received over 60 applications for their School Comunity Industry partnerships in science round of grants for 2004-5. The SNOWY GROWY application put up by the Snowy River cluster and the Snowy River Thinking project was one of the 24 successful applicants. Watch this site for progress reports on SNOWY GROWY! December 2 Orbost Secondary College advanced science students reported back about their trip to Monash. December 3 St Joseph's School visited Marlo and made use of the new resource space. December 8 Orbost Primary School explored water bugs. |
