Each Snowy River Thinking activity or event will be recorded here chronologically. Most events will also have their own page documenting the full range of things that happened.

Term 3 2004

July 21
Yr 5/6 at St Joseph's School had a great time exploring the Orbost-Marlo landscape using photomosaic maps and discussing river habitats.

July 22
Yr 3/4 at Newmerella Primary School showed their general knowledge of the Snowy River landscape while exploring the Orbost-Marlo the photomosaic maps.

Orbost Primary School Yr 6 discussed the Snowy River landscape and told stories of their flood experiences.

Orbost Primary School Yr 5 discovered more about the Snowy River landscape and its meanders. They did a great job finding their places in the landscape on the photomosaic maps.

July 23
Yr 5/6 at Newmerella Primary School explored the Orbost-Marlo the photomosaic maps and demonstrated their knowledge of the river and its habitats in discussions about animals and plants that depend upon the river for water.

Yr 4/5/6 at Orbost North Primary School used the Orbost-Marlo the photomosaic maps as a stimulus for story telling. Many had stories from family experiences in floods.

August 26
Art students at Orbost Secondary College signed up to help redecorate the 'Snowy River Thinking' space at Marlo Primary School. They have chosen the colours for the walls below window height, above window height and the ceiling to reflect the colours of the Snowy River environment.

August 27
Arrangments have been made with a Marlo contractor to refurbish the classroom hosting the 'Snowy River Thinking' space at Marlo Primary School. This involves minor repairs and a complete interior paint with colours chosen by Orbost Secondary College art students.

August 28
Sue Legge, teacher at Orbost Primary School, attended a Snowy River meeting at Dalgety and presented her talk about the LSRRT Schools' Program.

September 8
Orbost Secondary College art students met to discuss designs for the Marlo space.

The teacher-coordinator, Greg McNamara, gave a brief talk about the LSRRTSP to the Mens Shed members. Some members offered to assist in up coming projects.

September 9
Orbost Secondary College art students visited the Marlo space to see progress, take measurements and discuss their design plans.

September 16
Orbost Secondary College art students met with the teacher coordinator to discuss their mural design ideas for the Marlo space.
