Cranbourne Shire Historical Society Based at the Fisherman's Cottage on the Tooradin foreshore and have recently moved the former Cranbourne North School house to the site of the museum. Run school/group tours and can be contacted through the Casey Council Dandenong and District Historical Society, based at Dandenong and are over 40 years old. Formerly based at the Dandenong Town Hall for many years, now an arts and cultural centre. Dromana and District Historical Society, based at the Old Shire Offices, Dromana and cover the history of the Dromana and Rosebud districts. The contact is the Hon Secetary, Kay Voglis. Flinders District Historical Society,based at the former school at Shoreham, and run an active program in the Shoreham area Frankston Historical Society, based at Ballam Park, in Frankkston and the only historical society in the City of Frankston. The President, Glenda Viner can be contacted on the telephone number 9786 3116 Hastings-Western Port Historical Society, are active in the local Hastings community running a Fishermans Cottage and fishing museum at Hastings opposite the new Pelican Swimming Pool. Well worth a visit when in Dandenong Inverloch Historical Society,part of Bass Coast Shire, and have an active community group, involved in a wide range of community activities. Koo-Wee-Rup Swamp Historical Society,run a museum house Mallow at Koo-Wee-Rup and a very successful dinner in May of each year for over thirty years. Mordialloc and District Historical Society, based at the Laura and Charles Ferguson Museum, Mentone, and run an active community program in the Mordialloc area. Cover the suburbs of Mordialloc, Braeside, Parkdale, Mentone and Cheltenham. Mornington Peninsula Branch of the National Trust (Vic), based at McCrae Cottage at McCrae one of the earliest homes on the Mornington Peninsula. Joined the SEHA in February 2005. Narre Warren and District Family History Group, based at the Casey-Cardinia Library service at the Narre Warren Library and run an active program of workshops, research assistance and out days. Nepean Historical Society, run an MAP accreditated museum at the former Mechanics Institute at Sorrento and are involved in local heritage issues including the Collins Settlement and Point Nepean. Don Ewart is the secretary on the contact number 59840255 PO Box 139 Sorrento 3943 Phillip Island and District Historical Society, run a museum at Cowes in the former Shire offices and are active in the local community. Rye Historical Society, based at the Rye Primary School where they have a resource centre, part of the Mornington Peninsula Shire. Somerville, Tyabb & District Heritage Society, have rooms at Somerville and are the venue for the August meeting of the SEHA. Southern Peninsula Family History Group, have research rooms at the Rosebud Community House in Rosebud and are an active family history group. Wonthaggi and District Historical Society,the home of the State Coal Mine and active in the local Bass Coast and Gippsland community.
