ABOUT SAFCA

SAFCA represents the people who live, work or own property in Alphington and Fairfield south of Heidelberg Road. It was formed in 1995 to give local people a voice in the City of Yarra and to represent their views at the community, local government and state levels.

SAFCA stands for the maintenance of a strong sense of community, with a tradition of participation, co-operation and self-help by local people and seeks to build on these strengths. SAFCA believes that local people must have a say in the provision of government services and facilities and in the planning and development of Fairfield and Alphington, its parks, waterways and environs. It also believes that there must be a balance between the interests of local residents and wider state and national considerations, in the development of Fairfield and Alphington.

Where issues affecting residents in the City of Yarra also affect residents in neighbouring municpalities, SAFCA seeks to actively involve all those with a stake in the issue.

Membership is open to all people who live, work or own property in the area and is free. For further information, contact:
