| According to various sources (ABS, Russian Ethnic Representative Council of Victoria, Association Shalom, and others), there is a population of approximately 30,000 – 40,000 Russian speaking people in Victoria situated particularly in South-Eastern suburbs, with a number of Russian-speaking people living in the rural Victoria (Ballarat, Morwell, Colac, Bendigo, etc.) without appropriate access to the facilities we enjoy here in the metropolitan Melbourne.
Russian Link, non-profit community organisation, is now able to offer an opportunity to provide a quality link between people, for people, with people. Russian-speaking people are of different religions, political convictions, and races. ‘Russian Link’ is looking beyond any of these. It has been formed to enable easy communication between people wishing to have information in Russian or in easily understood English about simple but vitally important matters including: General Health, Women’s Issues, Aged Care, Youth groups, Education, Recreation, Community Services, Employment, Mental Health, Legal System and other issues, relevant for their new life in Australia. |
