History Victoria e-news

no.10 March 2009

Welcome to the first issue of History Victoria e-news for 2009.

Two of the articles in this issue are about rebuilding. Unfortunately a number of collecting organisations lost all or part of their collections in the recent bushfires. What are some of the issues that should be considered when rebuilding a collection? The second article looks at how a society rebuilt their museum displays after extensive renovations to the building.

Heritage walks are undertaken by many historical societies. Lenore Frost writes about her experiences organising heritage walks in the Essendon area.

Recently I have received enquiries about how the Privacy Act affects historical societies - some thoughts on this topic are included in the fourth article in the newsletter.

Discussion and additional information can be shared in the History Victoria Support Group mc2 forum.
