POLLY MCQUINNS
Image
Although this is not a building, it has been here since time began. My most favourite spot in the whole world. Once called Gall's Waterhole, it is not known exactly when it became Polly McQuinns. Legend has it that Polly and his horse and waggon lie at the bottom of the deep waterhole. There is an excellent crossing place of the creek, but to lose control of one's horses coming down the steep embankment ... it is highly possible 'Polly', horses and waggon did come to their watery end. Polly McQuinns has been one of Euroa's main water supplies for many years, it has a wall (which you can't see in this photo) behind the picturesque waterhole.

BARN AT KILLEEN

Image
On private property, this magnificent structure is believed to have actually been a shearing shed. (not sure why we call it a barn!). Built in the early early days sometime around 1840's.

Barbers' Chair

Image
Donated to the museum in 2005 in a bit of a sad state, this barbers chair is a Euroa original. It is dated from the 1930s, just imagine the history it could tell you if it could speak. It is a 'Malwa' distributed by H.O. Wills Co. Ltd. Our local upholsterer is going to restore the leather parts and the wooden parts have already been cleaned and polished up.

POTTS Cherry TOOTHPASTE LID

Image
Actually stolen from within a display at our museum in 2006. A piece of everyone's heritage gone to someone's locked cupboard where only he has the secretive pleasure of looking at it. H.W Potts of Euroa Cherry Tooth Paste lid, a rare rectangular one.
