Wrong Payment of Maternity Allowances to non-Exempted
Aboriginal Natives in Westerm Australia
The Commissioner
Particulars of the 14 cases in which maternity allowances
were wrongly paid to non-exempted aboriginal natives in Western Australia
during the period September 1942 to March 1943 are shown on the attached
statement. It will be noted that two of the mothers were 'full-blood',
one seven eights caste, four three-quarter caste and the remaining
seven only slightly more than half-caste.
