Letter dated 4. 6.1944 from Frank Martin at Pine Creek via Katherine
Wants to marry a H/C girl from the Compound at Alice Springs.

Sport Pearce H/C and Harold Thomas both of Alice Springs
Sport is 21 years old and mother of 3 children, two being
born in the Southern States during the evacuation period
and one in Alice Springs. The father of the latter infant
is Harold. Harold is 20 yrs old. They have been living
together for the past 18 months. Harold's letter states
Sport Betty Pearce H/C and that he is a H/C 26 years old.

mother of a H/C boy.Patrick is 36 years old. Correspondence dated 1948 states
P J Mulholland is 36 yrs old. Permission for marriage granted 26. 2.1948.

Mr John Davidson of Delamere has been granted permission to marry lubra Maggie.
He had this lubra as consort for a number of years and admits paternity to an
infant a few months old. There is another child known as Eileen Lunn to the
same lubra. This child is 7 years of age. Eileen is now at the Church of
England Hostel Alice Springs.
Correspondence dated 1948 re marriage of Betty Fisher H/C
who is under 18 years of age. Permission for Celebration of Marriage
dated 27. 2.1948 for Betty Fisher H/C and Bob Shepherd H/C both of
Croker Island. Permission for Celebration of Marriage dated 20. 8.1948
for Betty Elizabeth Fisher H/C and Robert Shepherd both of Darwin.

George Thompson H/C formerly of Inverway Station has applied to marry
female Aboriginal Janey. Letter dated 30. 3.1948 states Thompson is about
21 years old and is now at Newry Station. Letter dated 20. 5.1948 from
Timber Creek Police states little is known about Thompson but he is an
elderly man.
Correspondence dated 20. 2.1948 from Catholic Presbtery Alice Springs to Alice Springs
Marriage of Daphney McDowall and Dudley Hele will be a good thing.
Dudley originally comes from Oodnadatta. Also letter dated same day and
signed by Daphne and Dudley. Both are half-castes. Daphne was reared in the Halfcaste
Institution. Both are over 21 yrs. Permission to marry granted 26. 2.1948

Allan Abbot and Mary Krause desire to marry.
Allan Abbot was born 22. 7.1924, his mother now deceased was Karma, a full
blood Native and his father Ted Abbot a halfcaste. Allan attended school
at Hermannsburg. Two years ago Allan was married to Concy (Conoy ?), a F/B girl
from Hermannsburg. She died in childbirth at Haasts Bluff. Their son Spencer
is being cared for by relatives at Hermannsburg.
Mary Krause was born at Hermannsburg in July 1932, her mother Jintenaka was
a F/B woman of the Loritja tribe, her father was a white man Mr Krause from
Brisbane. Both can sign their own name.

Mr A W Gibson, an employee of Napperby Station wishes to marry
an aboriginal named Lucy. Permission for marriage granted 9. 6.1948.
Letter dated 6. 5.1948 states Gibson is about 60 years old and is likely
to remain at Napperby all his days. Lucy is about 20 years old. Her mother
is Ruby H/C and alleged father is native Friday. Permission for A W Gibson
and Lucy H/C both of Napperby Station to marry granted 30. 6.1948

Letter dated 8. 9.1948 states as both are aboriginals for the purpose
of the Ordinance permission is not required.
Telegram dated 23. 9.1948 states permission for marriage
Chee and Musgrave in mail.
Telegram dated 23. 9.1948 states Charlie Ah Chee 25 yrs and
Ruby Musgrave 21 yrs both unexempted halfcastes desire to marry.
Permission granted for marriage of Ruby Musgrave H/C and
Charlie Ah Chee H/C both of Alice Springs to marry.
