- This page has one of my Ozi Explorer utilities for download. It is
basically beerware. If you are in Melbourne then drop in for a beer!
There may be more in the future? Beer and Utilities!
- Alternatively, next time you are in the bush, see some rubbish,
don't pass by, bring it home with you, or the opportunity to do someone
a good turn presents itself, don't ignore this valuable opportunity.
Name Search
- This is the second version (Ver 1.1) based on a a couple of suggestions by some of the
members of the Ozi Explorer user list. The latest addition is the ability to use
OxiExplorer to input the coordinates by clicking on a map already loaded into
OxiExplorer.
- The utility is in a basic state and should be used with
CAUTION. Having said that, it has been in use by a
few of members of this list with no negative feedback.
- The program can Add, Insert, Delete and Edit the existing name seach
list (NSAID ..E). It can filter on the codes in the list ( drop down list) and save the
filtered list to a new file, which can be loaded by Ozi. Each Column can be ordered by
clicking the column header. In this version you will have to locate the name search
files. On my installation they are in C:\\Program Files\\OziExplorer\\Name Search.
- To install this version simply unzip the program to a directory of
your choice. Make sure the two report files and the oziapi.dll included in the zip file are
in the same directory. Backup any namesearch files you treasure before using this software,
just in case!
- The inserting of new records is done in the grid. This is still a
bit quirky. Use the TAB key to move between fields whilst editing.
- There is a bug that will affect the speed at which subsequent files are
loaded into memory in some circumstances. I am trying to find the time to fix this.
In the meantime, if loading is too slow, use the Cancel button, exit the software and
start over again. Shades of M$!.
New in Version 1.1
- You can now use OziExplorer to add NameSearch records to a NameSearch file.
Once this option is selected, simply click on a location in OziExplorer, fill in the
Name and Full_Code options in this program and press the Save button to add this
location to the NameSearch file. Any new full code inserted at this point will be
included in the nameseach data.
- The application now checks for modified data before exiting and give you
the option to save before exiting. A much needed addition. Note that changing the sort
order counts as a modification.
-
A button has been added to start a blank file for use with the new OziExplorer Option.
-
A save file button has been added. The file that is saved is the data actually displayed
in the grid/table. If you have a filter active, then all records not visible in
the grid are not saved.
-
A Bug in saving the the full codes hopefully has been eliminated. The bug resulted in
the datum appearing in the full code list. To eliminate this in existing files, load the file
and save it. This should remove the bad formatting from the .type file
- One Item not resolved. If you have the same namesearch file open in OziExplorer and try to
save a new version from this application, IT WILL FAIL. Will look at this later, in the meantime
don't have the file open in this manner.
New in Version 1.1.1
- A bug introduced in V1.1.0.3 that did not allow the Save As function to work has been fixed
