God's involvement with mankind is not restricted to spirituality and religion. God created the world to be part of His kingdom, and consequently Christianity has every right,in fact an obligation, to contribute to and influence social norms, including welfare, justice, politics and moral standards.
The common view is that religion and politics don't mix. This may be true in a restricted sense, but on a higher plane Christians are members of society no less than any other group, be it religious, political or atheist and have equal rights to be heard, not only for their own sake and for the sake of subsequent generations. When it comes to politics, B.O.G. will be political-party neutral, but it will speak freely on any issues, events, and policies that attack Christianity, whether on the domestic front, or internationally. |
