Billy Bragg at Federation Square in Melbourne
Folk Rocker Billy Bragg at Federation Square site on stage with Martin Kingham (CFMEU). Billy played to the workers on site. He explained that he had worked in the building industry before and understood it was hard work. He also dubbed Federation Square, 'Red Square'. Some workers will stick with that name. The CFMEU also presented Mr Bragg with a CFMEU medallion for his services to working class music and politics. Billy visits Melbourne again in September 2003.
