They run opening and closing ceremonies, approve badgework, and organise the unit program. They also recieve all information and pass the relevant info to the rest of the unit, as well as being the jury in such instances of a member or members infraction of the Unit Constitution!
The Myall Venturer Unit has 6 people sitting on the unit council. A leader is always present at council meetings in an advisory role only. Our unit has terms in a position at 6 months in length, with elections being held every January and July. The units 5 roles are as follows:

Secretary - The secretary is responsible for taking minutes each unit council meeting, as well as reporting on incoming and outgoing mail.
Treasurer - The treasurer is responsible for the units finances, and tallying amounts that each member has earned through fundraising.
Program Co-Ordinator - This council member(s) is responsible for filling gaps in the unit program with fun activities and helping other members oranise actiities, such as camps, nights out, and meetings!
Quarter Master - The quarter master is responsible for all unit equiptment, such as tents, stoves, computer hardware and software, and other items the unit has in its possession!
These people are essential for the unit to run from day-to-day. The unit council serves their term and at elections, can be re-elected into the same or different positions. A unit council member cannot hold the same position for over 2 years and the chairman can not be chairman for more than one term!
