Welcome to the 2008 Murray Valley Writers Club. This group has been formed to recognize the writing skills of its members and allow them to further develop these skills and others through the completion of set tasks. It also allows members to communicate with each other and share ideas, frustrations and strategies.
During 2008, there will be 3 set tasks (one per term). You and your group are expected to work on these during the term. This includes allowing half that time for the editing process. You will be allocated an editor each term. You will edit each others work in order to assist each other in improving your writing. Students writing will be shared in the SHARE FILE. Please upload work into this file saving as your name and title of writing e.g. for task A, I would save as linda_the box. If Harold edited my work he would save as linda_the box_hc. Each time changes are made, add initials of changer. Tasks can be found in the GROUP FILES. Completed work is to be E-MAILED to Linda. Please feel free to use the FORUM to pose questions or share ideas. Responsibilities and Expectations: 1. Work and negotiate with other students, designated teacher and Linda 2. Use technology to communicate with Linda and other contact students 3. Use computer capabilities to design and present work 4. Inform other students of current task, gauge interest and work with other students to develop response 5. Conference and edit every task – within your own school then with another school before it is sent to Linda 6. You and your allocated editor should be sending work backwards and forwards between the two of you until you are happy that it is the best you can do. 7. Send to Linda and together make to publishable standard.
