The Peer Support Program is a service provided by MS Australia ACT/NSW/VIC (MS Society). The Peer Support Online Community gives People living with MS the opportunity to meet and connect with others who understand. This program links people with MS with trained Peer Support Workers (PwMS) who can offer practical and emotional support. "Someone who Understands - Someone to Listen".
The Service is offered in three ways – by telephone, online and face-to-face. Click here to find out more about the Peer Support Program. http://www.msaustralia.org.au/nswvic/services-programs/vic/peer-support/index.htm
Peer Support Workers (Moderators) are people with MS who are trained by the MS Society in providing support and guidance. The moderators will be online for you to talk to between the hours of 8.00pm– 10.00 pm week nights (Mon – Friday) and 1.00pm-2.30pm (Wed).
Communicating with others in a similar situation can help you feel
understood, supported and less isolated.
The MS Society empowers moderators to log chats at their discretion for protection of both participants and moderators. The moderators have a 'duty of care' to advise the member at the beginning of each session that logging may take place. Logged chats may be referred to the MS Society for follow up and then deleted.
We ask you to respect the Moderators role as MS Society representatives and adhere to the MS Society Code of Conduct. Click here to see Code of Conduct.
If you feel this Community does not suit your needs there are alternative communities. Click here........
