NEWS 12 Submissions have been presented to DSE's Wildlife Possession Trade Advisory Committee - WPTAC. Each submission is species specific with the aim to have species added to the current Wildlife Licensing Schedules. The MSoV representive on the WPTAC Committee will now see these submissions through the WPTAC process. Draft 1 of a Code of Practice for the Private Keeping of Australian Mammals, has been published. The Code applies to mammals kept under Private Wildlife (Basic) and Private Wildlife (Advanced) Licences (not zoos or wildlife parks), as well as to dingoes kept under permit. The MSoV are involved in the draft process with the Depart of Primary Industries - DPI. We are in the process of making comment to DPI regarding the draft. |
