Before exploring this Morley family, two naming conventions I have used in parts of this web site in an attempt to avoid confusion.

Immigrant Jesse
As Jesse is a reasonably common given name for males in this Morley family, the term 'Immigrant Jesse' is sometimes used to refer to the Jesse Morley (1815 - 1892) that migrated from Sussex to Port Phillip in 1844.

M-(numeral)
As a way of identifying particular descendents of Immigrant Jesse, on occasions I have used M-(numeral) with perhaps more -(numeral)s to signify children; for example M-4 would be Immigrant Jesse's fourth child (also Jesse); M-1-3 would be one of Immigrant Jesse's grandchildren - specifically, the third child (Susan) of Immigrant Jesse's first child (James); and so on.
