Hi and welcome to the Autism Recovery Info website. This site has been set up to help parents/carers who have just discovered that their child has autism and who are trying find out what they can do as parents. Also for the parents who are trying find out about appropriate therapies that are available for their precious child. This site was also set up to help those who have been trying the mainstream types of therapies and are not getting very good reslults. As parents of an autistic child who had severe autism and was low functioning, we faced the same thing. Through a lot of research and persistance we have been blessed with seeing amazing results in our son. At times it was very frustrating as the public system doesn't offer that much in the way of therapy and then when you do start to hear about the therapies that are available privately, you are shocked at the cost. It has cost us a lot of money over the last two years as we tried every thing that we thought would give our little the best chance in life. We have used up all our savings and had to sell our family. I haven't been able to work either for the last four years as looking after Nathan has been a full time job in it self. But please do not let the last few sentances discourage you, your child is worth a lot more and this is why we have created this website to show you what works and what therapies are most likely to give your child the best results with out you having to do what we did financially, some of the therapies won't cost you a cent and you can do it at home. I will potentially save you thousands of dollars in appointments and therapies and it will fast track you and your child into the most effective therapies available. All we ask is of you is to help keep this Web site going and help us as a family and please make a donation of any amount (at any time), and I Marion will be in contact with you by Email.
A lot of parents we have met or seen on TV programs are angry and upset at the lack of help and support there is in our community when it comes to raising a child with autism. Most of them are hanging out for respite care, which does nothing for the child. Respite care (time out), is important and if it is offered to you, grab it. Having a child with autism can be extremely frustrating, straining, feeling of isolation, depressing and at times very lonely as it can be very difficult socializing. Just think for a minute how it must be for them though, the child suffering with this disability and being constantly misunderstood and in some cases misdiagnosed. Sometimes these children are misdiagnosed as having A.D.D, A.D.H.D, P.D.D etc... or you may have been told: 'You have a hyperactive child' - 'just a little behind but they will catch up' - 'Just needs more discipline, maybe', the list goes on. When these children are misdiagnosed, it can be so hard on the parents and even harder for the child. At the bottom of this page you will be able to look at a list of traits and see if your child has any of these. We encourage you as a parent or parents, carers to forget about the public system and lets look at what you can do as parents or carers within your budget and limitations. You as the parent/s or full time carer/s of an autistic child are the best therapist that they can have and it doesn't have to become your life, just a few hours a day or when you can. We also encourage you to look at the positives of having a child with autism and focus on their character and the gifts that they have and to think about the things you would take for granted if your child didn't have this disabilty. They are unique individuals and I love being around these children. I love also seeing the children who are receiving the right care and therapy and seeing the results with each little bit of help they get and how much it does for them. We will continue to work and develop this website into becoming a very valuable tool for parents, guardians, carers etc... who will use this site to gain knowledge and information to help their autistic child. We have made it an international website to help any one from any where, to know that there is hope when it comes to seeing a child escape the label of autism and to be able to blend into mainstream society with none or very little evidence of them ever being identified has having any 'autistic' traits. So no matter if you are from Australia, USA, UK, Europe, Russia, Far East, Middle East, Asia, Africa, NZ, etc.. we have information that will help you to help your child. The earlier the intervention occurs in an individuals life the more likely a complete recovery is. This statement is backed by research. Furthermore, the more comprehensive the intervention is the more likely a complete recovery from autism may result. Thank you & regards, M. Craig B.Sc. Nutrition |

See a 10 minute video onThis is a video about our son Nathan who has Autism. Click on this link: Nathan was a premature baby, he was born 3 months early (27 weeks gestation), weighing in at only 910 grams. Nathan spent the first 3 months of his little life in hospital. Nathan had to fight for his life when he was only 5 days old as he was very sick. Thank God he made it and is still with us today. He had heaps of test and probes within that three months and prior to leaving the hospital had to have a double hernia operation.
Nathan was a regular visitor at the Royal Womens and Royal Childrens hospital in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia for the first two years of his life.
As Nathan grew we started to notice abnormalities with his behaviour. By the time he was 2 years old we knew had severe Autism and as a result was very low functioning. We wanted to be pro-active about this and so we wanted to find out about anything we could that would help our son. As a result my wife came across a number of therapies that have helped our son out a lot, some more successful than others. The bio-medical side of treatment can be very stressful but is very rewarding. Nathan has come along way as a result of the treatment plan that he has been on. The ten minute video can't show you everything but enough to see how a child with Autism can improve dramatically with the right care.
You can help us help Nathan and other children like Nathan who have Autism receive therapy by making a donation through our Web site:
