It's a true case of teamwork when husband and wife, Maree and Joe Fenech, take to the greens for a game of lawn bowls.

Maree is totally blind and has represented Victoria in the national championshipe three times.

The couple took up lawn bowls 19 years ago so they could enjoy a common interest in retirement.

Then Maree lost her vision more then 10 years agoand started playing blind bowls 4 years ago.

Husband' Joe act as her eyes for the game. As a director, he talks Maree through the match by describung were the jack and bowls are situated.

He also describes the path of the bowl and then helps guide the next shot.

The city of Heidelberg Bowling Club has been a big supporter of Maree onher path to bowling success.

And that support was recently recognised with an award in the Vision Australia Makeing a Difference Awardes.

Maree hopes to qualife for the World Blind Bowls Championship in Glenroy next year.
