In addition to the Centenary of the Royal Australian Navy, 2011 is also the 70th anniversary of the formation of the Australian Women's Services - Women's Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF) established in February 1941, Women's Royal Australian Naval Service (WRANS) in April 1941 and the Australian Army Women's Service in August 1941.
