What have we achieved in 22 years?
Knox Arts Inc. has been an active advocate for the development of all art forms within the city of Knox since 1983. We have achieved a milestone in history with 22 years of continuous service to the community.As stated by the Mayor ...Council recognizes the importance of the Knox Arts Inc. in providing for the arts within the City, and commends your efforts in enhancing this very important aspect of community development.
During the past twenty years, we have presented almost 150 individual events, ranging from concert and touring theatrical performances to workshops, quilt and photographic exhibitions.
Some of the major achievements have been working to acquire a grand piano for the civic Centre: and training a squad of eighty handbell ringers to close the Melbourne International Festival in the new Sydney Myer Music Bowl.
Contributed to artist-in-residence schools projects for display at Knox Festivals.
Introduced and supported the concept of an annual Heritage Week.
Presented more that 180 events - mostly music and drama performances.
Commemorated the Centenary of Federation by
-with a major photographic exhibition
-training 80 local handbell ringers for a concert performance at the Sydney Myer Music Bowl.
Our most recent event was held on Sunday the 17th. of April at the Knox Civic Centre. Over 120 people turned up to enjoy the wonderful sounds of the Australian Welsh Male Choir as well as the special guest artists - The Four Sopranos.
This was the first of 6 performance that Knox Arts Inc. intends to put on this year.
