I was born and grew up in Wahroonga, Sydney, with two younger sisters, where I went to Hornsby Girls' High School. In the early 60s my family moved down to East Brighton, Melbourne and I trained for three years to be a Primary(Infant)School teacher.
Spent seven years in Echuca and Cohuna where my three children commenced Primary school, before moving back to Melbourne, to Greensborough,in 1976, on the Plenty River, where my husband Andrew and I live today.

My retirement after 35 years of teaching
Last year I retired from Thomastown Meadows Primary school where I have taught for the past eleven years. Prior to that I have taught around the area from Lalor Park to Briar Hill. Now I just don't know how I had time to teach. Iam so busy. One of the best things I have done is to join the Whittlesea U3A. I love the computer classes and Tai chi and enjoy making cards and scrapbooking my photographs.
Recently I went to the Music Muster at Mt Beauty and while there I flew over the highest mountain in Victoria, Mt Bogong. Evidence of the bushfires was everywhere. We skimmed the village of Falls Creek and saw how lucky they were to have escaped being burnt out. Our friend John is a glider pilot and instructor so we are lucky enough to glide often. I love it!
My mother is 80
In March my mother flew to Melbourne to celebrate her 80th birthday with her family - three daughters, five grandchildren and three (now four) great-grandchildren. My mother is very fit - she swims every day in her pool in Sydney and even out-shops her three daughters!
