Irlen Screeners
Irlen screeners are certified to identify children and adults with visual perceptual difficulties which can affect 10 - 15% of the population. Individuals who suffer this condition known as Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome, may be viewed as underachievers or as having behavioural, attitudinal or motivational problems. These problems can coexist with other learning difficulties. Precision tinted filters, worn as glasses can reduce or eliminate perceptual difficulties and light sensitivity. Looking through colour may correct the difficulty by altering the timing by which visual information is received and processed.
